In My Wake

All too often we are oblivious to the ways we affect others in our lives. We say and do things that can be hurtful. So often this is not our conscious choice. Sometimes, we are simply so self-involved that we fail to recognize the power of our words or actions. For me it took some major soul searching to bring myself into integrity with what I was saying, I felt, and what my actions were being experienced as by others.
When I was out on a boat in Lake Meade, literally gazing into the boats’ wake, I began to hear the words, of this poem, form in my mind.

This is my favorite poem.
