Care for You

“The Energy Discipline”
“Care for You!”

This is all too often the most difficult thing for so many people. Why? Because people feel that they should always think about everyone else first. Now, there are many examples of this especially where parents are involved. But I would like to remind you all that when you are on a flight and they are giving the safely instructions, they always say, “Put your mask on first – then put the mask on your child.”
There are several reasons that they say this, and the most significant of all is that it is more important that the adult can have greater strength in order to be there for the child. The same applies to life. If you are not taking care of yourself, chances are that you will not do the best by another person. Oh! Yes! I hear you say, “No! I always take great care of others!” And, I believe that eventually, that would be at your expense.

Be good to yourself, take time for yourself, treat yourself in the most kind way you are able to and I assure you that it will pay off. The people around you will benefit in the long run and you will be a joy to be around. That, in it, can be the difference between living life and existing.

In caring for yourself you must put yourself first. This is often the most difficult thing for many people to conceive of, especially those who are in charge of families. So, it takes a whole new change in attitude to achieve this guideline for some. The results, however, are winning for everyone. When you feel complete and balanced, on a day-to-day basis, your interactions with those around you will feel more relaxed and joyful. Isn’t that worth making the change to putting yourself first?
