And any time I’ve felt my moods slipping, I can get those little zaps of “up” energy sent my way through loving friends, funny emails, going outside and sitting in the sun, etc.

I am reminded that when my brother visited me over the Thanksgiving holiday that everywhere we went he went out of his way to speak to people…people he didn’t know. The responses were absolutely amazing. When I asked him why he felt it necessary to do this he replied that in these hard, economic times it made folks feel better if they were recognized even if it was by a stranger. Upon further thought, I couldn’t have agreed with him more.

Wouldn’t it be nice if all of us would take the time to acknowledge those folks who pass our way when we are out and about.
