I am recognizing more and more that the need to surround myself with positive people and positive programming is essential to my well-being! I have experienced a whole lot of disappointments recently and they are adding up to a huge case of depression. Me? Depressed? Yes! Me depressed. Sadly, none of us are immune to depression.

The extreme sadness, in all of this, is that we are given so much input throughout our lives as to the negative stigma surrounding depression. If you are depressed there must be something “wrong” with you. Well there is something “wrong” with you – just the same as you having a cold or the flu – you possibly need professional help.

All of my focus recently has been on all the negativity surrounding my life and even though, to some peoples point of view, I have so much to be joyful about, they do not know the whole story. My present demeanor, however, quickly gives me away. I am finding it hard to smile. So – what do I do? I avoid being with people; which only makes me feel worse! The focus then remains on all the negative things and my depression deepens.

As I am writing this I am aware of a television in the background and the show is dealing with murder and violence. How does this affect me? I quickly shut out that noise and recognized I felt better already. This is a perfect time to put two of my sayings to the task. “A challenge is purely an opportunity to experience perfection.” Also – “Share your dreams – clarify your intention – get out of your way – and let them happen.”

My dreams are to feel that joy again and I am clear on my intention to exercise; focus on all the good in my life; be aware of what I am focusing on.(In doing these things (and more) I’ll be getting out of my way.) Now – I’ll let all the good that is coming to me arrive in its perfect time. In other words I’ll trust them all to come about.

This is one more real example of living taken from my life as it is happening. I’ll keep you posted.
